Apply for the Fall 2026 WAC Faculty Seminar by August 10, 2026
The Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) Program is committed to building a
community of teachers dedicated to improving and supporting student writing.
Participants will learn how to create or revise teaching materials that reimagine writing practices in the disciplines, that honor our students’ unique knowledges and
experiences, and that better respond to the exigencies they face.
In particular, this semester-long seminar will provide tools and support for faculty who are teaching or planning to teach WI-designated courses. Each session will feature a central topic with assigned texts, guest presentations, teaching demonstrations, and time to workshop teaching materials.
Topics may include:
- Low-stakes writing
- Writing to read
- Multimodality
- Translanguaging
- Scaffolding
- Alternative assessment
Accepted participants will receive a stipend and commit to: 4 Zoom sessions, Fridays 10am-1pm; revising or creating an assignment & syllabus; creating a digital teaching portfolio. Applications to join the fall and spring seminars are made available in January and August of each year.
