Overview
The 2026-27 WAC Faculty Fellowship Program aims to spotlight faculty who have excelled in WAC seminars and workshops, reinforce the ongoing connections across the curriculum at Lehman, and offer an additional source of support for Lehman faculty interested in writing-to-learn pedagogy and Writing- Intensive curriculum design. We plan to award four fellowships with a stipend of $3,500 each. Check the qualifications below to consider applying.
Fellowship Description
Our goal is to have a diverse and interdisciplinary cohort of Faculty Fellows who are interested in writing-to-learn pedagogy, data gathering, and data analysis related to Writing-Intensive courses at Lehman College. Each Faculty Fellow will design and lead their own WAC intensive workshop, as well as collaborate on other WAC programming, which may include Brightspace curriculum development.
They will also serve as pedagogical thinking partners to Lehman faculty by offering feedback on syllabi, assignments, rubrics, in-class activities, and other teaching materials. The WAC coordinators will be available to support the Faculty Fellows and meet with them throughout the academic year.
Expectations
Faculty Fellows will:
- Hold weekly office hours over Zoom to support faculty as pedagogical thinking partners
- Lead or co-lead a WAC intensive workshop;
- Gather, analyze, and present data about undergraduate student writing in a Writing-Intensive course (could be your own or taught by another faculty member, in or outside of their department)
- Collaborate on other WAC programming, which may include Brightspace curriculum development
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be current Lehman faculty, part-time or full-time, who are interested in or have course at Lehman College during Fall 2026 and Spring 2027. Applicants must have attended at least experience teaching undergraduate Writing-Intensive courses and who will be teaching at least one experience teaching undergraduate Writing-Intensive courses and who will be teaching at least one WAC year-long or semester-long faculty seminar and demonstrate the ability to reflect on writing-to-learn pedagogy and to offer feedback on teaching materials across the disciplines.
